Our Mission:
Our coalition’s purpose is to promote collaboration and communication across agencies to be able to provide the people living in our area the necessary wraparound care to prevent crisis. We realized the lack of resources available to the LGBTQ+ population in our area. Youth apart of this demographic are at a higher risk for crisis due to this.
Therefore, we wanted to increase access to visible safe spaces across Winnebago and Boone Counties. Our vision to create different access points across a variety of organizations in our area.
We want staff to feel well equipped to have constructive dialogues and foster inclusive spaces where people are empowered to embrace their complete identity, free from the threat of repercussions or discrimination. The goal is to increase knowledge and provide skills to individuals/organizations to address the barriers in place for LGBTQ+ people.
