DESCRIPTION:RACMI Community of Practice: Empowering People Through Advocacy & Support – The Arc \nWho Are We? Your classmates. Your co-workers. Your neighbors. Your friends. Your family. The Arc of Winnebago\, Boone and Ogle Counties has been serving individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities since 1966\, when local parents with children with Down Syndrome\, autism\, cerebral palsy and other intellectual and developmental disabilities banded together to start a local chapter of the national advocacy organization\, The Arc. \nDATE and TIME: Wednesday\, October 21\, 8:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. \nLOCATION: NICNE at NIU Rockford\, 8500 E. State Street\, Rockford\, IL 61108 \nCost: FREE – This program is funded by the Winnebago County Community Mental Health Board (WCCMHB)\, and the 1/2 cent sales tax voted on by residents of Winnebago County. \nIntended Audience: Case managers and front-line staff from area human services organizations and mental health providers should attend. All are welcome! \nRefreshments: Light refreshments and coffee will be provided. \nAccessibility: The training will be presented in English. Accessible parking\, mechanical assist entry doors\, elevator access\, and accessible bathroom stalls are available. \nThis program is funded by WCCMHB with the 1/2 cent sales tax voted on by county residents.
